Flipped right past March

Sorry that the last time I posted was in the thick of winter. Although, judging from the temperatures today here in Washington [Easter Sunday] it is pretty hard to tell that wasn't just yesterday. We had to call in a substitute Easter outfit for Logan, as what I had bought months ago for today is a bit too summer-y.

March was a blur. Well, all of 2007 has been a blur. Logan is walking, running, & climbing like he's been doing it for years. A pro. We spend 45mins+ outside every evening when we get home from work & daycare, per his dictate. His neigborhood buddies are out there, too. He spends alot of his day at daycare outside on the nice days. S0, we're in a good spot [right now] with toddler sleeping patterns. He had his 15 mth appointment and he weighs 23 lbs, 8 oz (30%), 30 1/4 inches (25%) and has a good size head. Another immunization round but that was ok. His appetite and growth are both flattening out (for now - he is his dad's kid after all). His communication and comprehension skills improve every day and it is becoming much more of a 2-way relationship. Though, he's still really into the stranger anxiety/separation anxiety (and "whiney") kick. He has his first molar and the tips of the 2 eye teeth on top are coming in, so that brings the tooth count to "11."

L has a little constant tear in his right eye or down his cheek, so it is possible he has a blocked tear duct. We'll see where that goes in the next month with some home remedies, and see a ped. opthamologist before he's 18 mths old if it hasn't subsided. Could be seasonal allergies, too (but I guess that would affect both eyes). Not like we wouldn't end up at an eye dr. for him someday anyway with my & Chris's 'sight' genes.

Chris and I worked really hard, putting in many hours in March. This continues into April and what we foresee for May, June, etc. C got a new job and starts 4/23-- finally leaving the Old Town Alexandria job scene and stepping up to an HR Coordinator position in Georgetown for American Institutes of Research (www.air.org). He's very excited for the move, but it is bittersweet to leave behind the TRM days, just shy of 5 years there. With the new job will prob. come new routines due to his changed commute and "new guy" status, so we'll work out new daycare pickup/dropoff schedules. Fun.

We've been stepping up the house projects so that it will be presentable and we'll put it on the market in the summer to look for a single family home. Another range of things to consider with daycare proximity (REALLY don't want to have to change that), C's new commute, and affordability w/o being able to move to more western suburbs b/c of commute into DC. So, contractors of all trades are in/out/around our home. My retail "sideline career" on Craig's List getting rid our stuff is soaring, a hobby that is fun to me. The N. VA housing market is far too overpriced/overvalued and it causes me great angst to see what $X buys. Whole other subject...

OK... here are Logan's pictures in the past month. You made it past the written part of the test, great job! The first two are from "Spring Break 2007" down in Hilton Head, SC in mid-March with Tobin grandparents and his Mom (ok, maybe I didn't work SOOO hard that week). Enjoyed those days so much that we'll hope to make that another annual tradition to 'whet the appetite' for the week-long annual summer vaca in same locale (if we're invited.) He was in a heated pool for the pool shot. Not just a heated pool, but a down-right HOT pool, upwards of 90 deg. Logan was a smarty- he put only his feet in after the first day. He was surely thinking "Mom and Grandmom can't POSSIBLY find that enjoyable." Logan couldn't get enough of sand playtime- only, as his face indicates, he missed Noah. [Counting the moments until June reunion with N & fam.]

The others showcase his love of playground time with Dad, and apples. He has an insatiable appetite for apples b/c after he licked and bit this first one a few times, he started picking out some others from the bowl and opening his mouth widely.... until he was stopped immediately before tooth penetration.
