No matter HOW old he is [you say tomato, I say "tomah-to... "] this is what he's up to:
Vocabulary- new word every day- he is always trying. Sample of recent additions : vaccuum, again, funny, apples airplane, bus, please (and also in spanish says "porfa" to start off "por favor"), water (same deal, says Aqua interchangably), pasta, pizza, applesauce, names of his friends, bubbles, and my personal favorite: stein-ein (aka, Einstein as in Baby Einstein video/audio)... I'm not freaking out yet that he has reversed the syllables, he does say both ways. I'll cut him some slack for now, it is not an easy word. This adds to all the other standbys and necessities you'd expect from a child this age (baby, up, down, open, cat, doggy, book, ball, mom, dad, toys, etc..) He's even attempting 2-3 word phrases together- [someone's] in shower, [someone's] at work, etc.
Likes/Dislikes: whatever side they fall on, they're FIERCELY felt. Surely a sign we're thick into toddler-hood, no 'middle of the road' for this kid. Funny coming from his parents who can be wishy-washy & not definitive enough. Ok, his dad has this "ever so flexible" (yet incredibly endearing) tendency more than I, but we both suffer to some degree.
Logan can't get enough of:
- Mickey Mouse (insatiable appetite for video, audio and his stuffed doll)
- Moving furniture or anything not bolted to the floor, including stacking of items and re-organization of anything in his path
- Dancing (1st head bobs, then 2nd arm and knee twitches and then 3rd if beat is REALLY good, round it out with jumping. )
- Falling down from jumps/climbs
- Playing ball- really hard throws, too. No girly throws at our house! This goes for balloon toss, too. What force. Further, what flashbacks to his mom's 'volleyball in pool' in past SC vacations. Nothing in our paths is safe.
- Naming the items or actions he sees from his car seat 'throne' as we whiz him around to various activities.
Size: A topic of great debate, esp during the recent trip to visit GA fam. I tend to underestimate (I think 27 lbs) and GA fam thinks 30+ lbs. Which I think is WAY too much for less than 2yrs. He was about 24 1/2 lbs and 33" (I think) at the 18 mth appt. Surely any kid of ours is destined for a hearty stomach, and not be picky eater. He's one solid kid. Thank goodness b/c he's tested out his physical limits with item #4 above, falls.
Surely these few paragraphs do not adequately describe "all that is Logan" - he's full of all 21 /22 mth excitement and wondering, playfulness yet anger/tantrum-prone and a bit less whining than past months due to lots of talking. A new post in upcoming weeks will touch upon great visit to GA to see fam and upcoming Halloween.
