Fhew. Where did I leave off?
- Aus' Baptism. What can I say- great day, worth all the hard work in planning to pull that off. Thanks to everyone who joined us, near and far- and HELPED- especially Godparents DMM & DRC and 'Grandparent-al' and Aunt L/Cousin N. presence and assistance. And good weather, b/c WHAT would I have done if the whole party had to be inside? ugh. We spent enough $$ on the patio, and sod installed just 48 hours before, to let the party be inside.
- Next: chillaxin wknd @ home May 15-17. Can't remember specifics. Probably a lot of rest and messing up the house on our own. Oh, I had my 2nd & final, I hope, basal cell "cancer spot" taken off my nose that Friday. Glad that is over.
- Memorial Day weekend in Rehoboth DE with usuals M & M (and this year baby L was outside the belly), as well as good pals B & G. Great times, of course- pix were posted on FB. I might put one here, too. A whole new twist with THREE kids in the house.
- Then, we took the annual one week trek to SC for Tobin side family vaca. Best one yet. Cousin N and Logan have had some major quality play time over the past month. They're good buds. Played well together, we all could relax a bit more on the parenting front and actually have fun with them instead of referee-ing and constant tantrum control. They were pretty self-sufficient. They were exhausted every night by 7:30, fell asleep on couch watching TV while we ate dinner. And Austin was just loving to everyone. Had a blast with O'Rourke cousins (plural) and AC/UT.
- So... returned from SC exhausted. Even for as much as we relaxed there, we were tired, so tired upon return. Back to work and normal life and our neighborhood pool for June weekends. And a whole lotta rain in DC. Hm. What else? Regular daycare/school routines. Nothing earth shattering. I continue my "work from home" 100% until my BE career ends, and job searching. More on that when there is news to report. Unemployment looms for August and onwards unless I can head that off at the pass.
- Chris enjoyed good 4th Fathers Day this year- golf (had teetime at 6AM! what?) , nice gifts- lots of Wii accessories and games, lazy morning, then down to Woodbridge to see his folks. Rita's gelati to end the day. MMMMM... best.
So here we are at this week. And what a week it's been! On the Hollywood & other news fronts alone. I'm sitting here on Thursday night, by myself after all three of my boys have zonked out upstairs. Which is not an uncommon occurrence.
I'm watching Dateline (@ least 3hrs long tonight) and monitoring FB for tributes to Farrah and MJ. Our DC news still focuses on horrific Metro accident from Monday. Sad about Ed McM, on Tuesday, too. The SC governor story is mystifying- "I'm hiking the A.T. Wait, no.. I'm in Argentina with mistress." I think Anne Curry has just now worked 16 hours today. I watched her starting 7am on Today, and she just closed Dateline 11pm. I hope she had a small break in there somewhere. She'll be back on the air in 8 short hours. I do heart Anne.
Please, please let tomorrow & weekend be quiet on the "harsh news" front. For work, it should be quiet, as natural course of business is right now. Unfortunately, two good work pals/teammates have their last day tomorrow. Sad for me. I hope I'm soon to follow (stepping into another position quickly, that is!)- I hate to think of my team w/o those two around.
Pix (and only pix) to follow in the next day or so, at least by end of Sunday, that illustrates events above. For now, I'm turning in. I know I have more to say- more about my thoughts on some recent events, not just reporting on the events. Will save that for now.
