Logan has begun to clap along with music or when we clap/laugh with him; of course, just not when we request to show off the trick. Crawling backwards is near completion. The wood floors tend to help out the backwards "slide" when he's made it off the rug. You can tell his wheels are turning to figure out how to move forward- hesitating to put one knee ahead of the next. When he stops after 2 or 3 movements forward, he'll stop and give himself a round of applause. Daycare tells me he's a crawling machine; in our experience, he certainly gets around via rolling, backing up into a sit position, and creeping. But we don't want to rush all this too much, as we're not quite done with the baby-proofing and he's growing up too fast.

Swim class just ended. We all had fun- we were both able to attend the last class and he loved to be shuttled between us in the water. His favorite activities were being pulled from the wall (from a sit or stand) into our arms (his first 'dives'), floating on his back against one of us, splashing, and kickboarding (sans kicking). Actually, he would lay on the board and we'd move him around the perimeter - stopping at all the lane rope markers to play with them, then move onto the next one. Regardless, we ended up with a certificate for his baby book and lots of laughs. It was worth every penny. Not to mention, it got us in the pool for 10 extra times this hot summer. I admit the class was self-serving.Pictures posted are from playtime with Molly, Andrew, Maya & Avery on Saturday 8/12, and of course, swimming.
