Our Springtime Adventures

Yeah.... I didn't post even one Easter picture before June, despite the promise in an April blog to do so. Here is one of Logan on Easter Sunday [only because I said I would]. That is his stuffed (and only) dog, Wes, kept @ Graham g-parents home. And to the right, this is his "current" VA Tech picture, same onesie as on 4/19 post. This was taken Friday 4/20 for the VA Tech tragedy 'Day of Remembrance'.

Late April and May (and June, so far) were whirlwind months. We traveled. ALOT. And C&I worked alot in between all those trips. We decided not to sell the house for various 'comfort zone' financial reasons (not due to finding some hidden storage space or something, we just have to get rid of a ton of stuff to stay here comfortably for the near/mid-range future). Instead, and immediately, we embarked on the kitchen cabinet and new countertop project which should be completed by the end of June. I'll post before/after shots when that has come to an end. Somehow, they say this is only going to take 2 days when it finally starts (re-facing good cabinets, not replacing). We'll see.

We visited many friends and family in PA and NJ on those trips- celebrated a Holy Communion, 2 Christenings, and Memorial Day wknd in Rehoboth, DE. We got home yesterday from the annual trek to Hilton Head, SC for summer vaca with Tobin side- that will be a whole other post to follow. All trips were enjoyed immensely- many visits have been paid to us in VA, it was due time to go, see and do for ourselves. We're grateful to now be home for the next 6+ wks before a travel opportunity sneaks back into the mix. By then, we'll be ready.

1) Our family shot @ Kieran Murray's Christening (May 6, Union NJ).

2) The next pic has nothing to do with Logan. Every now and then, that happens. It is me, my godson Kieran and close friend (his mom) Debbi. Same day, same event.
3) Next, Logan is playing with the Langin girls on a quick trip up to PA (May 12). Previous to this play "dinner date" with M & A, we attended a great party @ the Lingos for Margot's Christening I have zero pix from the party, unfortunately. Too busy talking & eating, it seems.

4) The next day... MOTHERS DAY, we spent the afternoon @ the National Zoo in DC with the Grahams to see the pandas before they go back to China. We had a nice dinner out in the Cleveland Park area of DC and good weather for the outting. It was cool to see Logan engaged in looking at (and smelling) the animals- when he & I went the first time in Sept '06, it was pretty much just new terrain for a cool stroller ride & people watching from his perspective (though, it qualified in the baby book as the first.")

Luckily we were home for 5/19 wknd- on Saturday night, we had a dinner party for Graham family who traveled from the midwest and relaxed/"chores day" on Sunday. Finally, we headed to Rehoboth Beach, DE for Mem. Day long weekend. This year, L's [Graham] grandparents joined us, and of course also Uncle Matt R. It was one of the best weather weekends we've had in past years and Logan had 2 full days at the beach to enjoy the sand. No surf, he didn't like the ocean experience at that point. (Foreshadow to Hilton Head post, upcoming). Here is a beach action shot and also one with his cousin Hailey, who paid us a quick "meet and greet" visit while we were there. [Hailey is L's 2nd cousin on Tobin side, Luke & Christy's gorgeous child.]
Ok, signing off now until someday when I can post the Hilton Head vaca rundown. I think I can make that happen before 4th of July. Not for lack of wanting to- it was a great vaca and seems to get better every year. I just have to get all 3 of us ready for work/daycare return and some dinner prep, laundry/unpacking. AND all before the Sopranos finale tonight. Vacation luxury comes to grinding halt.
