June...July...Done

Not only did I not post the Hilton Head vaca run-down by July 4th as mentioned, but I am doing low-effort job (ie, no pictures for now) on getting new info in early Aug. One fast summer. One GREAT summer.

Events:
  1. Afore-mentioned SC vaca in spectacular house with equally enjoyed company- Calvy/O'Roarke, Fenstermacher and Schraeder families joined Tobins/Arnolds/Grahams. A blast.
  2. Recovering from vaca time off with crazy workload catch-up period. I wonder when that will let up.
  3. Our big kitchen project: re-faced cabinets and new countertop. LOVE it all. Already have blocked out of my mind the almost 5 years that we lived with the grunge.
  4. Murray family visited 6/23 wknd; made a couple trips to Haymarket for their cousin's Baptism celebration.
  5. Chris is playing more golf and did a duatholon (mountain bike, run) in Fredericksburg 6/23. He did great with the running part of duatholon. And has great stories from the biking portion. Who gets LOST in the woods during a duatholon, separated from pack, comes out all scraped up and bruised? One guess.
  6. 4th of July- great mid-week day off, to friends house for "tons of kids" cookout in the late day. That may have been the last time it rained! And boy did it rain.
  7. Cousin Angela left for Greece, her next Foreign Service post. Miss her much.
  8. Logan is doing an 8 wk play "class" at local rec center on Sat mornings. All the other kids are also little boys whose parents want them to run around and burn energy, climb soft things, throw, etc.. somewhere other than home. So glad we're enrolled. Though the "soft room" title of the class is hilarious to Chris.
  9. Daycare was on vacation for a over a week - Logan was in back-up arrangements with Graham grandparents (to include a mid-week sleep-over) and daycare through BearingPoint. All was fine; though always glad to get back to "routine" when Gladys' vaca is over. Too much to coordinate for "special" circumstances takes a toll on everyone's patience & behavior.
  10. Though, Chris and I had movie date night on the night Logan was at g-parents. That was good- L was missed after work, VERY strange flashback to 2005 and prior coming home from work when we could leave and not when we had to, and then arriving to just us!!
  11. Grandmom [Tobin] came up for the weekend of 7/21. GREAT time but we missed G'Pop. Chris was in Hershey to see The Police concert Friday [with Matt, of course]. We had "Phantom of the Opera" tickets for Saturday night here at Kennedy Ctr (so G'mom babysat, imported from GA to babysit...funny...oh and she washed our cars and been known to do landscape work) Logan, G'mom and I headed to South NJ that Sunday for family visiting. Just a day-trip. We wanted to see the Hallisseys and Calvy families in their respective towns and celebrate cousin Liz's 40th bday at the Deauville with wings and beer and so many cousins. Super time, exhausted Monday, but well worth it.
  12. L's granddad (Graham) underwent radioactive isotope treatment for early stages of prostate cancer. Doing very well; prognosis is positive. Though, for a couple months Logan won't be able to get w/i several feet of him for safety pre-cautions- they'll have visits, just not "sit in lap" visits. Small price to pay for issue hopefully being done by this fall and his Granddad's full return to health.
  13. Wrapping it all up with this past weekend's trip to Rehoboth Beach with good college friends, far more kids- Langins and Schaefers. 11 of us in the townhouse (5 kids, 6 adults); a million beach chairs, umbrellas, pails/shovels/sand trucks, some rain, only one overnight, good food and drink and it was a great trip. Regretfully, I didn't take one picture.
  14. Other minutia that makes up our lives- day to day stuff won't bore you with, if you're not there already.
Coordinating pictures for [some of] these 14 items will follow.

By September.
