90 days of Blog Neglect

About that… is an estimate of what this blog has endured while we went on to have a great start (and almost completion) to summer 2010. Themes:

1. Trips- Beach (DE 2x- Mem Day and 4th of July), FL for cousin C’s wedding (C&J while boys whooped it up in GA with the Tobin grands)- the best might be yet to come while we get through another 3 weeks of August before annual SC vaca.
2. Heavy usage of our community pool with neighbors and friends- there’ve been some weekends we’re there 2-3 times, starting Friday after work and closing it out Sunday night. Kids LOVING (and doing quite well at) swimming.
3. Parties- July was a bit busy on this front. So much so that I actually can’t remember June right now, I think it was just as celebratory with World Cup festivities, too. We got invited to many parties/BBQ, and we’re grateful to hang out with our friends so often.
4. Two of us are putting in a lot of work (but not TOO much – no weekends or anything in quite some time but do have some stressful work environs this summer), while two of us are enjoying respective daycare arrangements.
   
   1. Logan made the leap from one daycare/school to another- a camp now which is held at his new school he’ll start in the fall for PreK/4yr preschool. Loves it, doing awesome and the three of us are excited for the school year.
   2. This fall, Austin will likely make the leap to the school Logan just left, where the teachers have known him since he was born. Though, hard for us to leave beloved G, it will be time for 2y old to move to the next step.

As I write now, I’m sitting in the Salt Lake City Airport headed home from a business trip to Bozeman, Montana where I attended a conference where I was part of a team to train users on one application. I support. ‘Twas a 48 hr trip to beautiful Montana (the mountain scapes were gorgeous) which took 2 legs to get out there yesterday AM and 3 to get home tonight. I’m waiting for the 2nd of the 3rd legs to get home- this part being the more interesting- onto Las Vegas, 2 hour layover there (WHOOHOO!! so not boring, slots await) and then 5 hr red eye back to DC. Where I get to skip work tomorrow and sleep it all off.  But, again. Las Vegas. The other passengers for this flight in the waiting area are a bit sketch, but this will not deter my excitement about the last segment.
Some pix of our summer are attached below and we also have a smallish/summer highlight album on my FB. I promise to not let it go another 90 days without an update. Excitement amounts for the upcoming fall- football and all the rest. And as mentioned, the main event vaca is still to happen.
