What's that saying about the road paved with good intentions?

I had such high hopes to beat that 90 day blog trend. I’m squeezing in right under the wire- about 71 days. At this rate, I’ll get (back?) to regular frequent updates..um.[imagine sound of mental calculations]...no time soon. Since Aug 6th last post:

• More of the regular work (getting a little better for Mom.. a LITTLE better. In fact, I better not say it in fear of reversing that observation. A little worse for Dad, sadly)
• Awesome 48 hour trip to South Jersey shore to see many cousins, aunts, uncles. Such fun night on OC NJ bwalk with all those cousins. Kids awake and still kicking @ midnight.
• Even more awesome annual beach week in HH,SC with full Tobin clan (Arnold, Tobin, Graham), as well as 2 Sr. Fensters, Calvy and 2 O’Rourkes. So many highlights:
• arriving 5:30am day 1, great weather for Aug (no hurricanes close by), baby Parker, SWEEET crib, the hot pool, 4 little well behaved boys, pony rides, dive contests, golf, [scary] scooter races, alligators in the lagoon, lots of Bud Light Lime (and other liquid refreshments), remote controls no one knew how to use (including yours truly- even Uncle T. struggled), meeting Robert Irvine @ his restaurant on the island, so many yummo dinners, Sea Shack, Austin bday party, I could go on and on.
• Back in time for our own community pool close-out Labor Day Monday
• Back to school- new teacher for L (loves it)- now in PreK. Reading prep has officially begun.
• Spontaneous Rehoboth DE trip with Chapells 9/11 wknd
• Fall sports- Football and baseball playoffs in particular. We’ll even cheer the Phillies on, now that the Braves are out. Not that they were much competition anyway.
• 1/2 marathon for CG in Philly. He had so much fun, now he runs 20+ miles for enjoyment (CRAY-ZEEE) over any weekend and jumped into spot for Marine Corps Marathon 10/31 here in DC. Typically not a spur of the moment decision.
• Austin turned 2yr on 9/24. There were a few smaller parties, to include cookies at daycare, and with VA Grands 9/23. No big bash for #2 in our house but we certainly celebrated such a wonderful little boy.
• 10/2 wknd in PA with many-o-cousin/aunt/uncle for Aunt Ro’s #65 gala. We’re still laughing about that wknd. (all those pix are on FB, apparently)
• Long Columbus Day wknd for 3 of us (not Dad), Mom decided to skip town for 15 hours on Sun 10/10/10 and go celebrate with Tobin grands in GA their #40 anniv at a brunch co-hosted with L&P with all their close GA friends. Oh yeah, that appearance was a little surprise to the guests of honor. And unknown to 2 of the 3 boys I left here, too. Had to own up to my whereabouts to a particular almost 5 yr old upon return, though had to promise I had no fun. Is a little white lie, entirely worth not witnessing a meltdown about it.
• 10/16 wknd- just darn glad to be home! Playdates, rec center classes, visit with VA Grands, friends, etc. We *heart* normalcy.
