Exhausted. Halloween festivities have been awesome and overwhelming. (and OH WAIT, when should I point out it’s been only 13 days since the last post?) We outdid ourselves and our normal level of activity, if that’s any indication. One of us ran a marathon and kicked some serious Marine Corps Marathon butt (hint- was SOOO not me) beating previous personal record by about 1 hour. I tried to excel in other ways- volunteer at Logan’s school for the Pumpkin Hunt/read to the class (Mon), normal work stuff (Tu-Fri), get kiddos & house ready for Halloween and associated parties at daycare/school(s) (Tues and later), Austin’s last day at Gladis’ house on Friday (ok, not my happiest moment of the week, but a big milestone of our life), overnight with Murrays at our house Sat night, and overwhelming, though thoroughly enjoyed Sunday with the Marathon and Halloween. Here are the visual aides:

Logan’s class after the pumpkin hunt
Austin after we carved the pumpkin (Wed night)
Waiting for the Metro to ride the train to the marathon

Halloween party in our hood- Austin wasn’t hot on it first, but ended up really enjoying wearing the Superman costume we’ve seen
somewhere before. Which meant that Chris got to recycle his wardrobe, too. Photo credit to neighbor KCT for the “Austin and Violet peering into enormous candy bowl” shot.

A’s hand caught in the proverbial cookie jar when Logan spread out all the candy he pulled in over the course of the evening. We left Austin’s stash in his bowl, but it’s pretty absurd how much candy got pulled in over two rounds of trick or treating tonight.
Fini! Onto the next big holiday… and DAYS OFF! and a trip south!! and an upcoming Baptism! Who knows, maybe I’ll be back before Tgiving?
